Anna Stanger

The knowledge of painting techniques and preparation of my own painting materials is crucial to my work as a part of the complex painting process. So I am returning to the roots of art in the Renaissance, when the artist’s process was determined by craftsmanship and technique just as much as creative inspiration.“

Anna Stanger is a young artist and graphic designer. She studied Graphic Design, Art History and Painting. Since 2015 she has been a freelance artist and student at the Vienna Academy of Visionary Art.

Art has always been a part of Anna Stanger’s life. Born in a small town in Austria, in a valley surrounded by mountains, her artistic parents always supported her creative expressions. Two years at a Waldorf School further influenced her development to becoming an artist, where she discovered a fascination for colour, forms and telling stories with images from an early age.

The canvas became a mirror for her personal transformation into who she really is, reflecting the painful and blissful experiences of her life. Anna writes that:

"Each brush stroke is a landmark of the artist’s sacrament to the creative force. Success or failure, pain and happiness, tears and laughter are captured on the canvas as evidence of the artist’s process. The painting process is a grounding act of spirituality to create a balance between spirit and the physical body, to transform the fear of failure and strain to succeed, into a healing meditative state of mind where everything is possible. Without the pressure to achieve a certain goal, the gates of creativity open up to the land of infinite imagination where the artist’s mind is capable of creating art in any form.

My intention is to explore the land of imagination and express what I see, feel, experience in my life on every level of awareness. To communicate my process and bring my stories into the world, the technical aspect of my work has become significant during my education at the Vienna Academy of Visionary Art. Here I have learned the old masters traditional techniques from teachers such as Amanda Sage, David Heskin, Aloria Weaver and Daniel Mirante.
